Welcome to the Barbour ABI Training Room series. In this blog we take you step-by-step through how to export construction data from the Barbour ABI platform. This can be within PDF or Excel spreadsheet format and used to maximise your sales, marketing and business development efforts. How to Export Construction Data: PDF Format
1. Ensure you have performed a Project or Company search. Find out How to Utilise the Search Function.
2. Select your download list by using the dropdown or manually select which entries from the search results you’d like to export. (note: PDF downloads are limited to 50)
3. Click the three dots and click Download PDF.
4. You’ll then be taken to the Export Data page. Your latest export will appear at the top of the download list on this page. Click Download.
5. If Download hasn’t appeared, you can click Run to refresh the current download.
6. Access your exported PDF in the downloads section of your device. Ensure you save the document somewhere secure.
How to Export Construction Data: Spreadsheet Format
1. Ensure you have performed a Project or Company search or have a Tag set up. Read our blog about How to Utilise the Search Function or watch our video on How to Utilise Project or Company Tags.
2. Click on the Export Data icon.
3. Click New Export.
4. Type the name you want to give your export into the box provided.
5. Click the dropdown menu and select the export type you’d like to use.
6. When the new dropdown menu appears, either select from your Tags list or your Saved Search list.
7. Click Next.
8. Click the dropdown menu and select the download template you’d like to use for your list. This affects the fields that will be included in your list. Email Mail Merge is the default template. Fields that are included will be listed on screen.
9. If you select a Bespoke template, you can select which fields are included using the tick boxes and dropdown menus.
10. If you’ve created a Bespoke template, there’s an option to save this to use again. Simply click the tick box, give your template a name then click Save Template.
11. Use the tick boxes to select any other field or download options you want to include or exclude.
12. Click Next.
13. Click the calendar icons to select the record date range you’d like to download or leave this blank to download all records you’ve chosen.
14. Use the Sort By dropdown list to select what order you’d like your data to appear in the download.
15. Use the Number of Projects to Download dropdown list to select how many records you’d like in your downloaded list (please note: this is limited to 2000).
16. Click the checkboxes to mark the downloaded records or leave blank. This allows you to avoid mailing the same record and see who has been contacted.
17. Click Export.
18. You’ll then be taken to the Export Data page. Your latest export will appear at the top of the download list on this page. Click Download.
19. If Download hasn’t appeared, you can click Run to refresh the current download.
20. Access your exported Spreadsheet in the downloads section of your device. Ensure you save the document somewhere secure.
