Three major Solar Farm projects are dominating the East Midlands construction project landscape, according to our latest 2026 league tables.
Sitting in a shared first place at the top of our League Tables are the Cottam 600MW Solar Farm Project, Heckington Fen 500MW Solar Farm and Battery Storage Project, and the Tillbridge 500MW Solar Farm. All of which are populating in Lincolnshire.
Both projects are valued at £500m and are due to start in the first quarter of 2026.

Cottam 600MW Solar Farm Project Details
The Cottam project consists of a 600MW Solar Farm with battery storage split across 3 sites all with associated transformers, switchgear, inverters, and other associated infrastructure.
The electricity generated by the energy park is expected to be exported into the existing national electricity transmission system at National Grid’s 400kV Cottam substation.
According to the Cottam Solar website, this project is classified as a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project due to the amount of renewable energy it would generate.

The Solar Park project consists of a 500MW capacity ground mounted Solar Farm and Battery Storage Facility with all associated infrastructures.
Ecotricity, the client of the Solar Park, has stated that it will contribute towards UK’s net zero goal by:
- Generating enough affordable green electricity to power over 100k homes
- Storing green energy
- Removing +75k tonnes of harmful CO2 emissions per year

Tillbridge 500MW Solar Farm Project Details
The Tillbridge Solar Farm project consists of a 500MW capacity ground mounted Solar photovoltaic (PV) panels and energy storage facilities. The project was granted planning permission on 14 October 2025 and is currently in pre-construction stages. Tillbridge is classfied as a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP) and is estimated to produce more than 50 megawatts of green energy.
