Kate Perrin, Barbour ABI Marketing Director, will be chairing alongside Lloyd Collings (The Environment Bank), and Sarah Stone (BWB Consulting) about safeguarding biodiversity across the UK construction landscape.
Read Kate’s insights on the seminar below, and what we can expect:
“We are all aware that land use and construction practices can contribute to the removal of natural habitats. This affects the diversity of individual species, genetic diversity and prevents migration and the occupation of a wider range of habitats.
Biodiversity net gain or BNG is a way of creating and improving natural habitats. It makes sure development has a measurably positive impact or net gain on biodiversity, compared to what was there before development.”
The Seminar: Building Biodiversity: Nurturing Nature in Urban Landscape
In this session we will be hearing from Sarah Stone, Associate Ecologist at BWB and Lloyd Collins, Principal Planner at Environment Bank. They will be exploring what best practice looks like for local authorities from planning through to construction since BNG is now mandatory under Schedule 7A of the Town & Country Planning Act.
Join us for what is sure to be an informative session full of insights and advice from our two biodiversity experts at 12:15 at the Culture Change Hub within UKCW London at Excel on Tuesday 7th of May.
