Hotel and leisure construction projects continue to move through the UK pipeline, ranging from standalone hotel developments to wider mixed-use projects incorporating hospitality and leisure elements.

A significant leisure construction project in the UK pipeline, the Center Parcs development at Hawick comprises a proposed holiday village including lodges and apartments, alongside a spa and indoor water park, leisure and sports facilities, restaurants, bars and retail uses, together with associated landscaping and heritage works.

Ralli Quays – 280 Bed Hotel & Offices

Plans propose a 16-storey, 280-bed hotel with restaurant alongside a 12-storey office building featuring roof terraces, ancillary facilities and enhanced public realm works. The office element includes reception, lobby, lounge, riverside studio and flexible workspace at ground floor level, with offices above. The scheme also includes demolition of Ralli Quays and provision of 184 basement cycle spaces.

Several schemes scheduled to commence this year have subsequently been placed on hold, including:

  • The £120m Guildhall Hotel, Nottingham, following the Government’s decision to grant listed status to the building, which is currently subject to appeal by the client.
  • The £10m Thomas Street Hotel, Manchester, where the client is currently reviewing their development options.
